Be Your Heart Self

Many have a misconception of what prayer actually is. Some folks may have a specific prayer they recite, daily, believing that they have a ‘formula’ to get God’s attention. Some even like to be heard when they pray; maybe in church or a prayer meeting that might give them an opportunity, with the wrong motive, to be heard by others. The fact of the matter is simple: God desires our heart intentions and adoration expressed in words of love to Him. It’s conversation to the One who knows your every thought, and every word before you even speak it.

The truth of God’s Word to reflect on:

“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on the street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you prayer, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private, Then your Father who sees everything, will reward you.”

Matthew 6:5-6
